Daisanjijujika (大惨事十字火, "Cataclysmic Cross Fire", English TV; "Cremation Blade", Other; "Sword of Catastrophe"), also known as the Demon Blade (鬼刃, "Oniha", English TV; "Ogre Sword"), is a so-called mythical ōdachi with sentient capacities that was forged by the legendary Shugi Gōka, the great grandfather of Suzaku Goka, many centuries ago.

Overview[]

Forged many years ago, this so-called mythical blade is of otherworldly power. It was crafted with the bones of a fire demon, fastened together by sutras and mystical seals to come into existence as a sentient, knowing thing. It is capable of speaking to its wielder through pulsations and expresses its will regularly. Daisanjijujika is incredibly picky and will not let just anyone wield it; it appears as though the sword can change its weight, increasing it exponentially when someone it dislikes attempts to lift it or lightening itself when someone who pleases it decides to call forth its power. Daisanjijujika is never seen with a sheath. This is because it does not have one; the sword can be summoned forth through an agreement between it and its summoner, appearing in a flash of fire and awe.

Once Daisanjijujika is called upon, must must relinquish a measure of their chakra to condone its unbridled power. Daisanjijujika can call forth blasts of flames or heat to incinerate or scorch the land. Its fire is considerably hot, hotter than even Suzaku's himself and can pierce the mightiest of barriers and constructs. Despite its two meter long length, Daisanjijujika can be extended through the use of chakra flow. Its blade is among the hottest objects on earth while the butt of its handle carries the eye of Daisanjijujika, a moving and living eye that roves the battlefield for does.

Drawbacks[]

  • Daisanjijujika will only allow the heir to the Gōka clan to wield it.
  • It feeds off of the chakra and life force of whoever controls it; in return it unleashes astonishing power.

Trivia[]

  • This blade is inspired by the sometimes sentient, demonic swords from InuYasha.
